Ahead of the 2023 general elections,the Adamawa state Independent Electoral Commission,INEC, announced the collection of 4,104 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for the state.

Resident Electoral Commissioner,REC in charge of the state’s Commission, Barrister Hudu Yunusa Ari made the disclosure in Yola Tuesday at a critical stakeholders meeting, stressing that all necessary arrangements are on top gear for the exercise.

Barrister Ari said BVAS will be used for the 2023 elections in all the polling units in the state.

He added that the commission will deploy a technology for transmitting election results from the polling units which are being tested for configuration and labelling the BVAS.

Ari called on the people to go and collect their permanent Voter’s cards,PVCs at the various electoral officers across the 21 local government areas in the state, explaining that 187,377 PVCs are for 2019 opening balance.

He stated that 2019 PVCs collected till date are 77,566 while 2019 balance of the PVCs are 106,811, noting that 215,280 are for 2021-2022 fresh registration received and a total 113,713 fresh registration PVCs were collected for 2021-2022.
