Taskforce demolishes 4,000 illegal structures in Delta

Following the mandate to make the state cleaner than ever before, Delta State Taskforce on Environment in warri, at the weekend demolished at least 4,000 illegal structures on walkways, highways and under high tension wires in Uvwie and Warri metropolis.
Some affected areas include: Airport road, Jakpa roads in Effurun , Uvwie Local Government Area of the State, while scores of illegal structures built on walkways in the warri garage area in warri South Local Government were demolished and moribund vehicles evacuated.
Speaking to our Correspondent on telephone, a member of the taskforce, Mr Iweka Odiaka who stood in for the chairman, Mr Solomon Oromoni, vowed that the taskforce would implement Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s Smart Agenda on a clean environment without fear or favour , disclosing that the evacuated moribund vehicles were toed to Government House Annex, Edjegba Agbarha, Warri.
