A total of 743 delegates are expected to participate in the election of
the South West zonal officers of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, today in Osogbo the Osun State capital.
The figure was made known by the
National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which
officially released the approved Delegates’ List for the conduct of its South West Zonal Congress slated for Monday the 12th of April, 2021 in Osogbo City, Osun State.
A breakdown of the delegates’ list as released by the NWC of the party showed that Oyo State has 171 delegates, Ogun, 114, Osun 130, Ogun (114), Ondo (112) and Lagos (101).
The release of the list, the PDP pointed out, is in line with its mandate to conduct free, fair, credible and transparent congresses.
This was contained in a statement issued at the weekend by the National Organizing Secretary of the party, Col Austin Akobundu, rtd, in Abuja.
The main opposition party made it clear that the conduct of all congresses must be in strict compliance with the NCDC Guidelines on COVID-19.
The NWC thus wished all aspirants, stakeholders, party members and supporters a safe and hitch-free congress.
The statement reads, “In line with its mandate to conduct free, fair, credible and transparent Congresses, the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great Party, the PDP, thereby officially releases the approved Delegates’ List for the conduct of the South West Zonal Congress slated for Monday the 12th of April, 2021 in Osogbo City, Osun State.
“The NWC wishes all Aspirants, Stakeholders, Party Members and supporters a safe and hitch-free congress.
“The conduct of all our Party’s congresses remains in strict compliance with the NCDC Guidelines on COVID-19”, it said.
