The police have enjoined residents of Gwagwalada, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to always provide useful information to
security operatives, in order to effectively mitigate crime in the area.
The police authorities in the area encouraged members of the public to regard security as a collective responsibility at all the time.
Making this assertion, the divisional police officer (DPO), in charge of the area, Wilson Dankwano, however revealed that crime rate in the area has reduced drastically.
Dankwano noted that adequate security measures were been adopted in the division to tackle crime headlong.
The Police boss further disclosed that officers and men of the divisional police headquarters in Gwagwalada area council have killed an armed robber, while operating near Chalston Group of Schools, along Gwako/Giri Road in the council.
According to him, security operatives also recovered one locally made gun and cutlasses from the robber.
Dankwano added the police would continue to hunt for the remaining robbers, who escaped into the bush after being overpowered by men of the division during exchange of fire.
