Jigawa govt commences training of 1,449 teachers, 250 head teachers

The Jigawa State Government in collaboration with NEWGLOBE has commenced the training of 1,449 teachers and 250 head of teachers through Jigawa Unified New Improvement of Teaching and Education (JigawaUNITE), to improve quality of public basic education across the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by Olusanya Omojola, Acting Managing Director JigawaUNITE.

He explained that the mission of JigawaUNITE is to deliver dramatic improvements in learning outcomes in government schools for all children across Jigawa State.

Omojola maintained that, the program implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Basic Education and the Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), JigawaUNITE aims to raise teaching standards, improve learning outcomes, and modernize classroom instruction for thousands of pupils.

According to him, the first phase of implementation of the program has been completed in Dutse, where a 10-day Wave 1 training for teachers and school leaders was conducted. The next waves of training will take place in Gumel and Hadejia.
