Senator Arise returns APC nomination forms, promises quality legislation

In line with the guidelines for participation in the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, Sen. Ayo Arise who is seeking to return to the Senate for Ekiti North Senatorial District on Tuesday said he will continue to work for the development of his constituency and the country in general.
Sen. Arise who spoke with newsmen shortly after returning his nomination forms said having the privilege of serving his people at the Red chambers between 2007 and 2011, he has developed a lot capacity and understanding of the requirements for a strong legislation.
He said he was equally impressed upon by stakeholders in his constituency to come and represent them, adding that as a responsible citizen, he decided to accept the challenge.
“I have been a serving senator, but there is a great call for duty from my people in Ekiti North Senatorial District because they have been expressing some nostalgic feeling about not only my representation when I was in the Senate, but also the achievements I was able to record for the people of the senatorial district.
“Amongst which is a Federal University Oye Ekiti that has now covered almost the entire senatorial district. We are very fortunate. We had a system that allowed for a multi-campus structure, and successive vice chancellors have been able to extend opportunities for education, commerce, and development to all the nooks and crannies of the North Senatorial District, save a few local governments.
“Those few local governments have been calling on me to intervene and speak with the management of the university so that they can also benefit from that opportunity that is helping our senatorial district to grow.
For me, I had to answer because I felt I can still add much more value, and that is why I have decided that I will run again. So let the people of the senatorial district decide who they think can better represent them.
“There is nothing more than that. I just want to go back and do things for my people that will elevate the senatorial district and ensure growth in infrastructure, commerce, and land value, particularly in Oye Ekole and all adjoining towns and villages in that senatorial district”.
Arise added that the presence of the university has brought immense benefits to the people, with the quantum leap in the value of landed property, and the rising population, with its attendant economic benefits.
On the mode of primary election he would prefer, the aspirant said he prefers any system that will be devoid of manipulation, even as he vowed that the people will not allow any form of manipulation of the process.
“We are going to deploy technology. We are ready for them, for after rigging exposure, because there is no other way, they want to justify imposing someone who, after three and a half years, cannot show one or two things done for the people.
“For me, I am in politics to change the lives of my people. If i don’t have no value to add, I will focus on my business and survive. I am convinced that without the intention to write results, they will not, the kind of things I am hearing”, he added.
