The General Manager of ALU TV International Nigeria, Bashar Abubakar, has reaffirmed the station’s commitment to promoting national unity, Nigerian culture and socioeconomic development through diverse television programming.
Abubakar stated this on Tuesday in Sokoto when the management of FATSAM Advertising and Media Limited paid a courtesy visit to the station as part of efforts to explore areas of collaboration.
He said ALU TV was established to serve Nigerians across the country and was already expanding its coverage beyond its traditional base in Northern Nigeria.
> “ALU TV is already covering events all over Nigeria, especially in the North-West and North-East regions. We are working to expand our frontiers beyond Sokoto, Northern Nigeria, and to other parts of Africa,” he said.
According to him, the station is also committed to countering negative narratives about Nigeria by showcasing the country’s cultural diversity, development and potential.
Abubakar stressed that Nigerians must collectively contribute to the peace, stability and prosperity of the country.
> “This country belongs to all of us and we must work towards its survival, peace, unity, stability and socioeconomic prosperity. If we as Nigerians don’t do this, nobody will do it for us,” he said.
He said the station’s vision was consistent with that of its founder, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, a former governor of Sokoto State and senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District.
Abubakar described Wamakko as a patriotic Nigerian whose vision was instrumental to the establishment and growth of the television station.
He also disclosed plans by ALU TV to introduce a new multilingual television programme in Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo, aimed at promoting businesses, products and brands while strengthening national unity and peaceful coexistence.
FATSAM Seeks Partnership with ALU TV
Speaking during the visit, the Managing Director of FATSAM Advertising and Media Limited, Abdulfatai Abdusalam, said the proposed partnership with ALU TV would create opportunities for businesses and organisations to reach wider audiences.
Abdusalam said effective advertising remained essential to building brand awareness, increasing market reach and connecting organisations with their target audiences.
> “Effective advertising is key to building brand awareness, expanding market reach and connecting organizations with their target audiences,” he said.
He explained that programmes to be developed and sponsored under the proposed partnership would be non-political and non-religious, with a focus on promoting unity, stability and economic development.
> “They are aimed at boosting unity, stability and economic development of Sokoto State and Nigeria in general,” Abdusalam added.
The visit also featured multilingual presentations in Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo by Bashir Rabe Mani, Mustapha Olatunde and Sandra Ogechi Nwabueze, respectively.
The presentations highlighted the potential of multilingual broadcasting to connect advertisers and businesses with audiences across Nigeria’s diverse linguistic and cultural communities.
Both organisations expressed optimism that the proposed collaboration would expand advertising opportunities, strengthen engagement between the media and business communities, and contribute to the socioeconomic development of Sokoto State and Nigeria.
