Alfindiki Celebrates Barau’s Growing Youth Development Legacy
Former Chairman of Kano Municipal Council, Faizu Alfindiki, on Wednesday celebrated the growing youth development legacy of Senator Jibrin I. Barau, Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, describing his interventions as a sustained investment in the future of young Nigerians.
Faizu Alfindiki, in a message marking International Youth Day, said Senator Barau had distinguished himself through interventions in education, skills acquisition, empowerment and economic support for young people.
The Kano born politician said Senator Barau had provided scholarship opportunities within Nigeria and abroad, particularly in healthcare, agriculture, science and technology, as well as vocational and craft programmes.
Alfindiki said Barau’s support also extended to student and youth organisations, including the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS) and other youth groups.
He said the organisations had received learning materials, equipment and other assistance, adding that some had also benefited from more than five vehicles to facilitate their activities.
According to him, more than 2,000 young people had been reached through various support programmes, including engagements as Senior Legislative Aides (SLAs) and Special Advisers (SAs), alongside monthly financial assistance.
He added that young men and women across the 13 local government areas of Kano North had also benefited from Senator Barau’s monthly empowerment support.
“The support Senator Barau I. Jibrin provides demonstrates his passion and commitment to the wellbeing of young people. He understands that youths are the foundation of every society’s development, which is why he continues to invest in their education and future,” Alfindiki said.
He described the interventions as evidence of a leadership approach that places human capital development at the centre of sustainable progress.
Alfindiki said the initiatives had impacted young people across Kano and other parts of northern Nigeria by creating opportunities for education, skills development and economic independence.
He urged youths to take advantage of available opportunities and use their talents positively to contribute to national development.
Alfindiki therefore congratulated Nigerian youths on International Youth Day and expressed optimism that Senator Barau would sustain his investments in education, empowerment and youth development.
