The paramount ruler of Benue State Tor Tiv Ochivirgh ,Prof Jame Ortese Ayatse has berated the State and Federal Government effort in tackling the persistent attacks in the state as ‘grossly inadequate’.
The Tor Tiv lamented while receiving popular Nigeria song artiste Innocent Idibia known as 2baba at his place in Gboko, decrying over the continuous torment and danger the people are facing.
He lauded the effort of security agencies in curtailing the attack but noted that they are overwhelmed.
He said, “yes the governor is doing his best, the President is also doing his best but their best is not working, it is not good enough.
“So the clear position is that the structure we have is been overwhelmed.
“And for me, there is no wrong in calling for help instead of keeping quiet and dying on a daily basis.”
The monarch who commended 2face for always identifying with his people during attack which have been sustained for over two(2) decades, called on other prominent Benue indigenes to emulate this gesture.
He also appreciated him for his talent hunt initiative that would identify prospective talents to world limelight, adding his philantropist act of assisting the needy and vulnerable
The Tor Tiv said having seen the pain, anguish, torment and affliction of the people, he encouraged the music maestro to compose songs that speak to the trauma of the Benue people to global attention, maintaining that the attack are deliberate, planned and systematic if stopped, those killing, maiming and taking their lands, would in the next 10 years succeeded.
“Music transcends generations. So, I challenge you to sing about the pain, affliction, torment the Benue people are going through.
“Bob Marley is no longer alive but his philosophical songs re-echo today. May the land of Benue bless and protect you”, the chairman of Benue Traditional Council blessed him.
Speaking 2face lauded the Tor Tiv for been in the forefront in preaching peaceful co-existence.
He informed the paramount ruler of his initiative to hunt talents and asked for his blessing.
