Sheath your swords, Lagos group counsels Obanikoro, others

A Lagos based group, Save Lagos Group (SLG) has urged the immediate past Minister of State for Defence and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Lagos State, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, former PDP National Vice Chairman,(South-West),Chief Olabode George and leader of the PDP in the State, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe and host of other gladiators in the Lagos State chapter of the party to sheath their swords over the outcome of the PDP governorship primary in the State.

The group warned that the current imbroglio among the leaders of the party might affect the chances of the party to win the forthcoming guber election in the State.

SLG however disclosed that the recent media words between Senator Obanikoro and Chief George/Senator Ogunlewe would not help the party’s unity ahead of 2015 general elections but it would continue to disunite the party more and more and it would not augur well for the party in Lagos state.

While reacting to the face-off between the two leaders of the Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the group through its Convener,Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman in a Statement, which a copy was made available to newsmen in Lagos yesterday, called on the both camps to bury their hatchets in the interest and progress and development of the party in the state, urged them to see politics as an opportunity to serve citizens of the country.

 Comrade Sulaiman maintained that Lagosians were not happy with the friction within the fold of the party as people of the state were looking up to the party (PDP) to give better alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2015 governorship election and other elections, advising the national leaders of the party including President Goodluck Jonathan and PDP National  Chairman,Alhaji Adamu Muazu to wade into the party crisis in the state.
