Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa State has released the sum
of two hundred million Naira for the payment of gratuity to two thousand retired state civil servants.
Disbursing the money to the beneficiaries at the Abacha Youth Center Lafia, yesterday, the state Director Pension Bureau Alhaji Abdullahi Oseze opined that governor Almakura’s administration since inception accorded top-most priority to retired civil servants in the state for their enormous contribution rendered to the state.
According to him “over two thousand retirees in the state are to receive their gratuities. The governor has directed the Board to pay the beneficiaries within 10 days”.
Oseze further applauded Governor Almakura for his kind gesture extended to pensioners in the state as well as promised to do same to retired civil servants viewed from the sacrifices rendered to the development of the state during their service years.
The payment according to the director general would be through e-payment in order to curtail the hardship being experienced by the retirees in recent time.
According to him “The state government is doing everything possible to ensuring that all those who retired from 2011 to date get their gratuities”.
He urged retirees in the state to exercise more patience, as the gradual process will benefit them all.
