Stakeholders under the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Forum in Nasarawa North Senatorial District have endorsed Governor Abdullahi Sule as their preferred candidate for the Senate in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of a forum meeting held in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, and signed by the forum chairman, Timothy Anjide, and APC State Organising Secretary, Hassan Abubakar.
According to the communiqué, the decision was reached unanimously, with stakeholders expressing confidence in Governor Sule’s leadership capacity and political experience.
The forum also used the occasion to call for the zoning of key political offices in the state, including a recommendation that the 2027 governorship position be rotated to Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the interest of equity and fairness.
It further proposed that the forthcoming senatorial bye-election candidate for the district should emerge from Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, stressing the need for a credible and widely acceptable aspirant.
Similarly, the stakeholders recommended that the House of Representatives seat be zoned to Wamba Local Government Area, while the position of Deputy Governor should go to Nasarawa Eggon LGA.
Beyond zoning arrangements, the forum urged unity within the APC, calling on members to close ranks and strengthen the party’s structures ahead of future elections.
It also emphasized the need for better funding and coordination of party organs at all levels to improve grassroots mobilisation and electoral performance.
The elders commended party stakeholders and public office holders for their contributions to the party’s growth, while reaffirming their loyalty to the APC and commitment to its continued success in Nasarawa State.
