From: Ahmad Muhammadu, Bauchi

The Bauchi State Government has commenced livestock vaccination campaign targeting over one million animals across the 20 local government areas of the state.

The initiative, includes the procurement of  ten thousand doses of rabies vaccines, in response to recent cases of animal bites involving dogs and other animals in parts of the state.

The vaccination exercise aims to promote a healthy livestock population and encourage livestock farming as a means of boosting the state’s economy.

At the inauguration of the 2025 Annual Livestock Vaccination Campaign in Itas Gadau Local Government Area, Governor Bala Mohammed emphasized Bauchi’s status as a leading state in livestock population, attributing the development to influx of Fulani cattle breeders from conflict-affected areas across the country.
