Kaduna State Government (KDSG) said it has recognized a programme on the role of local leaders and other stakeholders in building and sustaining peace in the State.
The Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr James Kanyip, asserted this yesterday while speaking to the media in Kaduna.
According to him, he was able to gather valuable information that will help in tackling the challenges facing the State, saying information received from them would aid security agencies in their operations.
He added that in view of this, he has embarked on an assessment tour of the security situation in Kaduna State ‘’to hear directly from the people affected.”
Kanyip added that the tour is a shift towards a more direct community engagement in addressing security challenges, adding that the engagement covers Giwa and Igabi Local Government Areas.
The Commissioner said that he aims to gather first hand information from communities affected by security concerns, so as to present it to Governor Uba Sani for prompt action.
