The Executive Secretary, Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Emmanuel Shior has lamented the increasing rate of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), occasioned by more attacks on communities in the state.

In this vein, the agency yesterday distributed truck loads of rice and indomine to over 1 milliin IDPs in the state.

Shior who made the lamentation while distributing relief materials in Makurdi, disclosed that the agency will distribute a total of three trucks of rice and over 5,000 cartons of indomine to the IDPs.

He explained that some of the IDPs in the state are from Taraba State and  Cameroon numbering over 10,000.

The Executive Secretary further admitted that the agency has received reports about cases of fungal disease in some of the camps, averring that relevant authorities have been notified of the incident.
