The Uba Sani Legacy Projects Solidarity Assembly (ULEPSA) has given glowing commendation to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for the successful renovation, upgrade, and full equipping of the Sabon Gari General Hospital, describing the development as “a major stride in the Governor’s drive to strengthen healthcare delivery” across the state.

In a statement signed by its Director of Strategic Communications, Khadija Mohammed, and issued in Kaduna on Saturday evening, the group said the transformation of the hospital stands as a clear testimony to the Governor’s promise to make quality healthcare accessible to every citizen, irrespective of location or status.

According to the Assembly, the facility, which had long suffered neglect, has now been completely turned around — featuring improved wards, modern equipment, and a conducive environment for both patients and health workers.

“The upgrade of Sabon Gari General Hospital is not just a facelift; it is a life-saving investment in our people’s wellbeing. Governor Uba Sani has once again demonstrated that good governance is about touching lives and restoring dignity to public institutions,” the statement read in part, ULEPSA added.

The group further noted that the project aligns with the Governor’s ongoing health infrastructure renewal programme, under which several hospitals across the three senatorial zones are being rehabilitated, modernised, and equipped.

“From Zaria to Kafanchan and Birnin Gwari, the Governor has shown consistency and commitment to upgrading health facilities that had been abandoned or under-equipped for years. The Sabon Gari project is one among many that underscore this administration’s resolve to deliver on its campaign promises,” the Assembly stated.

ULEPSA also praised the Governor for his inclusive approach to governance, ensuring that development projects are evenly distributed across the state. It said the upgraded hospital would significantly reduce the pressure on tertiary health institutions in Kaduna metropolis and improve healthcare access for thousands of residents in Sabon Gari and its environs.

“The people of Kaduna State are witnessing a silent revolution in healthcare delivery. With the likes of the Sabon Gari General Hospital now restored to modern standards, Governor Uba Sani is redefining what leadership truly means,” the group added.

The Assembly called on residents to take ownership of the facility by maintaining and protecting it for sustainability, while urging the state government to sustain the ongoing remodelling of other general hospitals to replicate the Sabon Gari success story.

The group reaffirmed its unwavering support for Governor Uba Sani’s people-oriented governance style, describing him as a leader who matches words with action and whose legacy will endure across generations.

Reacting to the development, Dr. Nasir Dambatta, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Print Media and an indigene of the area, backed the group’s commendation, describing the project as “a historic intervention that rekindles hope and restores pride to the people of Sabon Gari and beyond.”

He said Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to transforming the health sector is “not a political gesture but a genuine act of service to humanity,” noting that the modernised hospital now stands as “a living testament to what purposeful leadership can achieve.”

According to Dambatta, “For years, residents of Sabon Gari yearned for a decent public hospital. Today, that dream has become a reality under Governor Uba Sani. His attention to long-neglected communities shows a rare sense of inclusivity and empathy.”

He reaffirmed that the administration would continue to prioritise projects that directly impact lives, stressing that “the Governor’s legacy in health, education, and infrastructure will speak for generations.”

Dambatta also urged residents to protect and maintain the new facility as a collective heritage, saying, “This hospital belongs to the people. Preserving it is the surest way to honour the Governor’s vision for a healthier, stronger Kaduna State.”
