Breaking: UNICEF Delivers Nutrition Aid to Kaduna, Hails Uba Sani’s ₦400m Support

Date:

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has delivered lifesaving nutrition supplies to Kaduna State and commended Governor Uba Sani for releasing ₦400 million to fight child malnutrition.

The intervention includes over 8,000 cartons of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) for treating severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and 800 cartons of small-quantity lipid-based nutrient supplements to prevent malnutrition among children.

UNICEF Country Representative, Ms. Wafaa Saeed, applauded Kaduna’s leadership, noting that the state’s timely financial support enabled the procurement and distribution of the critical supplies.

She however stressed the need to scale up services, saying treatment points for malnutrition currently stand at only seven health facilities per local government area.

Saeed also hailed Kaduna’s ₦5.8 billion counterpart funding to the “Sanitation and Water for All” initiative, calling it a strong commitment to safeguarding child health.

Governor Uba Sani thanked UNICEF for its long-standing partnership, reaffirming his administration’s resolve to invest in child health, nutrition, and development to secure the future of Kaduna’s children.

“No child in Kaduna will be left behind,” he pledged.
