Reverend Dr. Moses Chooji, President of the Grant Community Decide Movement, has fired back at allegations of fraud following his invitation to the Nigeria Police Force Zone 7 Headquarters in Wuse.

Addressing the media after his meeting with investigators, Chooji labeled the accusations “rubbish” and identified a rival figure, Reverend Bartolome Agbochonu, as the alleged architect of a smear campaign intended to derail the movement’s efforts to secure foreign grants for Nigerians.

Reverend Chooji revealed that his invitation to the police was prompted by a petition from Agbochonu, who allegedly accused him of involvement in “international fraud.”

Chooji turned the tables, accusing Agbochonu of being the true “enemy” of the people.

He said: ”I wrote to the DG of the DSS on January 26th calling for an investigation into fake grant handlers, and Agbochonu was among them.

“He is running to the police now to block that investigation.”

Chooji leveled several specific counter-allegations against Agbochonu, including: allegedly collecting N10,000 from Nigerians for a “Voluntary Refuge Foundation” without providing grants, allegedly collecting N25,000 from over 5,000 NGOs via the Theobat Global Foundation, and charging N15,000 for verification at the Women’s Centre and N2,000 for MOUs without results.

Despite the legal distractions, Chooji maintained an optimistic outlook regarding the release of foreign grants intended to alleviate poverty in Nigeria. Responding to concerns about the “six-month-long pregnancy” of the disbursement process, Chooji explained the delays within the Presidency and Central Bank.

He noted that the government initially harbored skepticism that releasing such vast sums might inadvertently empower political opposition or negatively impact Naira’s valuation.

Chooji defended his recent solidarity rally at the APC Secretariat, stating that unlike previous administrations, the current President has shown the “body language” of endorsement.

“If for the singular reason of approving these foreign donors… I think to me it’s a credit,” Chooji said, dismissing critics—whom he claimed were largely from a specific regional bloc—as being blinded by political bias.

The movement is actively “bombarding” international donors via social media to ensure the funds reach the “common man” rather than being trapped in the bank accounts of directors or returned to source.

Chooji urged Nigerians to remain patient and resilient despite the economic hardship.

”Don’t die before the day of your burial, we have already appreciated Mr. President, and if he calls [the CBN and Finance Ministry], they must answer. There is no hiding place for them anymore. The money is coming”, he assured.
