Date:

From Ahmed Kaigama,Bauchi

governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Barrister Mohammed Abubakar has alleged that some APC aspirants are conniving with the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to get into power.

The Bauchi APC guber aspirant made the allegation yesterday while declaring his governorship ambition at the Zaranda Hotel in Bauchi, saying that that there are visible cracks within the ranks of the party’s aspirants to the seat.

Abubakar faulted the claims by some APC aspirants belonging to a special group known as the Progressives Circle demanding to be fielded as qualified candidates for the 2015 election.

“Some members of the APC known as Progressives Circle are claiming to have an edge over other aspirants regarding to candidature to elections while others are claiming that their membership of the legacy parties has qualified them to contest election.

“As a governorship aspirant in the party, I want to refute these false claim by some of us because the party is providing a level playing ground for all aspirants to various elective offices” Abubakar said.

The two time commissioner in Bauchi state during the military and civilian regimes said he decided to dumped the PDP for the APC to realize his ambition because he has no root in the PDP.

“I was just a mere casual visitor in the PDP because I did not spend up to two years before I contested for the senatorial seat during the primaries after I was given a waver by the party and I lost”.

He said his intention of contesting for the seat of the governor in the 2015 election is to wrest power from the PDP in order to arrest and eradicate the decay that visited the people of state under the PDP’s rule.
