Evans Travel & Tours Limited has expanded its operations to the Benin Republic in a move aimed at deepening regional tourism, improving cross-border travel and promoting West Africa as a unified cultural destination.
The company said the expansion followed its official registration in the Benin Republic and formed part of its long-term strategy to make travel across West Africa more organised, accessible and professionally guided.
Speaking on the development, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Evans Aguiyi, described the Benin Republic as a key tourism destination in the sub-region owing to its rich cultural heritage, historical significance and vibrant traditional practices.
According to him, the expansion will enhance travel logistics, strengthen cultural exchange and improve access to major tourist attractions in cities such as Ouidah, Cotonou and Porto-Novo.
He said, “The expansion comes at a time when global interest in African heritage tourism, diaspora reconnection travel and cultural exploration across West Africa is growing rapidly.
“Countries such as Ghana, Benin Republic, Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire continue to attract increasing numbers of international visitors interested in meaningful cultural and historical experiences.”
Aguiyi noted that West Africa possesses enormous tourism potential but requires better coordination, effective storytelling and professionally guided travel systems to maximise its value for international visitors.
He explained that the company has earned recognition for organising multi-country tours across West Africa, including journeys through Nigeria, Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.
The tourism entrepreneur added that the company offers a wide range of travel packages, including cross-border road trips within member states of the Economic Community of West African States, cultural and heritage tours, city excursions, educational trips and customised group experiences.
According to him, the company’s packages are designed to provide authentic cultural immersion through direct interaction with local communities, traditional festivals, heritage sites and historical narratives.
Aguiyi stated that travellers are increasingly seeking ancestry exploration opportunities, slave route tours, overland adventures and multi-country African travel experiences.
