Ex-Katsina Deputy Governor escapes death

A former Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Sirajo Umar Damari has survived a traffic accident on Wednesday in which one person died while on his way to Kaduna for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zonal Congress.
The name of the person who died in the accident was given as Dalhat Machika.
The former deputy governor was travelling alongside the APC Chairman of his local government, Sabuwa, in Katsina State, when the accident occurred close to Kaduna.
Both of them survived the accident and were rushed to Yusuf Dantsoho Memorial Hospital in Kaduna. They are said to be responding to treatment.
Damari was among the Katsina State delegates to the congress which elected zonal officials of the party on Wednesday.
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has visited the deputy governor and other victims, and prayed for their speedy recovery, and for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
He assured them of the state government’s support during this difficult time.
The governor was accompanied on the visit by the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Masari; the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir and other top government officials.
Damari was deputy to former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shehu Shema, from 2007 to 2011.
