The Founder of Sickle Cell Patients Health Promotion Center (SCPHPC) Kaduna, Hajia Badiya Magaji Inuwa has said massive campaign and awareness for people to know their genotype before marriage is the antidote to curb the sickle cell Anemia.
She stated this during the 2021 World Sickle Cell Day held in kaduna yesterday.
According to her, couples should be made to know their genotype so that they will not produce sickle cell children in the future.
She said “it is disturbing to see sickle cell patients passed through so much pain during crisis which could have been preventable if their parents know their genotype before marriage.
