Gombe state governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has assured speedy compliance to tackled lingering challenges within the Judicial sector.
The governor made the pledged on Monday in Gombe during a ceremony to commemorate the 2024/2025 Legal year.
According to him, his administration has studied numerous challenges in the Judicial sector and is working towards revamping it’s plight at all levels that includes the High Courts, Sharia Courts, Magistrates and Area Courts.
He said government will also key into by looking at the Judicial reforms which he said is paramount and will ensure that its administration tackle decongestion of prisoners at Correctional Service.
Governor Yahaya while emphasizing the needful he said a bold step have taking to end challenges faced at Judicial sector with a view of tackling issues regarding retirements, deaths, and transfers noting that these shortages have impacted the administration of justice, and we are determined to appoint more judges to the State High Court, Sharia Courts, and Magistrate Courts, as well as other supporting judicial staff tlhis will help strengthen the judiciary and ensure that justice is accessible.
However he said we working towards lprioritizing the welfare of judicial staff over the past year, we have made significant progress in improving their working conditions through promotions, capacity-building programmes, and training initiatives.
