The Arewa Youth Assembly, a leading youth organization in northern Nigeria, has formally addressed a letter to Hon. Engr. David Nweze Umahi, the Minister of Works at the Federal Ministry of Works in Abuja.
The letter, signed by Mohammed Salihu Danlami, Speaker of the Arewa Youth Assembly, expressed “profound concern and growing frustration” regarding the management of the Kaduna-Abuja expressway project.
In the opening paragraph, Danlami reminded the minister of the expressway’s “immense national importance,” as it connects 12 Northern States to the Federal Capital Territory and the southern part of the country.
He pointed out that, despite the contract being awarded to Infioquest International Limited after being revoked from Julius Berger, the road continues to deteriorate, and progress has been “at a snail’s pace” 11 months after the contract was awarded.
