Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the mother of the two term lawmaker representing Odogbolu State Constituency in the Ogun state House of Assembly, Honourable Remmy Hazzan.
The 69 years old politician’s mother, Madam Rachael Hazzan was abducted from her home at Omu – Ijebu in the Odogbolu local government area of the state around 8:p.m on Wednesday.
Although details of the abduction still remain sketchy as at the time of filling this report, the lawmaker who is also a pastor in one of the Abeokuta branches of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)
however, confirmed the abduction to journalists yesterday in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Hazzan, a Second termer in the Ogun state House of Assembly said his mother was abducted right in front of her shop in the family house located along the Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE) road, Irete
in Omu – Ijebu.
The lawmaker also explained that he was informed about the ugly development by neigbours shortly after the incident on Wednesday night.
“I saw my mum’s missed calls when I came back from the church last night and decided to call her back. We spoke till around 8p.m only to receive a call some minutes later from her neighbour that she has been
abducted”.
Hazzan, who emphasised that neither he nor any other members of the family have been able to establish contact with the abductors, also said that he has fully informed the State Command of Police as well as
the state Department of Security Service (DSS) about the development. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi said the matter has been brought to the notice of the police
and that the command was doing everything possible to unravel the kidnap.
