Following the initial supports provided for victims of the recent multiple bomb blasts at a Mosque in Kano, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has donated additional drugs and other medical consumables to the Armed Forces and Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospitals, Kano, for the treatment of the injured victims in that hospital.

The Director-General of NEMA, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi while donating the items said the gesture was aimed at strengthening supports for the recovery of the victims.

He said additional items provided were based on discovery for more supports as some of the victims were in need of prolonged treatment.

Sani Sidi, who was represented by the agency’s North West Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Musa Ilallah said it would continue to monitor the conditions of the victims to ensure the provision of necessary assistance for their quick recovery in line with the commitment of the Federal Government towards their plights.

It will be recalled that the two hospitals were among other seven earlier supported by NEMA aftermath of the recent insurgents attack on worshipers at the Kano Central Mosque.

The other hospitals that have benefitted from the medical supports are Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, National Orthopedic Hospital Dala, Sir Sanusi Hospital, Sheikh Jiddah Hospital, Khadija Hospital and Waziri Gidado Hospital and Muhammad Abdullahi Wase hospital.

Responding, the Deputy Commander of the Military Hospital Group Captain Glenn Bassey Nkanang appreciated NEMa for the kind gesture. He assured that the items would be utilized according to the intended purpose, noting that this will enhance the quality of care being given to the injured victims of the blast in the hospitals.

In related development, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed additional relief supports to the victims of the attacks by unknown gunmen in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State in which many communities were affected.

The items were distributed were food and non-food items given directly to the affected persons by NEMA officials along with officers of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency.
