Governor Kabir Abba Yusuf

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf and his predecessor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, met face-to-face for the first time since the 2023 elections.
Peoples Daily reports that the encounter took place at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano State, marking roughly two years since the highly contested election.
The meeting, said to be coincidental, saw the duo exchange pleasantries in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.
Ganduje, Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), was reportedly in Kano to inspect the airport facilities when he crossed paths with Governor Yusuf, who was en route to Abuja.
It would be recalled that Ganduje did not personally hand over power to Governor Yusuf, instead delegating the then Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, to conduct the ceremony after the election.
Governor Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP), defeated Ganduje’s anointed candidate, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in the 2023 election.
