Kebbi Governor, APC remove three key party members in Zuru Emirate
Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris and the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have removed three key members of the party following rift over the party’s primaries.
On Wednesday, the APC suspended its State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana-Zuru, who is from Zuru Emirate, accusing him of abandoning his responsibilities.
Also suspended alongside with him is the APC Chairman of Zuru Local Government Area, Aliyu Abubakar Abiola.
Their suspension was contained in a statement signed by the State Party Secretary, Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammad Kimba.
They were accused of neglecting party stakeholders in Zuru Emirate, being lukewarm to party affair, poor engagement with stakeholders, not doing enou enough mobilization, and non-compliance with established party principles and procedures.
The party said the state Deputy State Chairman will serve in an acting capacity pending further directives.
In the case of the governor, he descended over the Commissioner for Livestock Development and Fisheries, Alhaji Kabir Usman Alaramma Zuru, who was sacked with immediate effect and told to handover all government properties to his permanent secretary.
The suspension of the Commissioner was announced by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida on Wednesday in a statement.
Alaramma Zuru completes the trio the hammer landed on as the APC struggled to contain the aftermath of its congresses.
The negative vibes of the primaries made Senator Garba Maidoki, the Senator representing Kebbi South to defect from the APC to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing internal disputes arising from the party’s primaries.
