Kwali elders endorse Wowo for FCT senate

The aspiration of a former special Assistant to FCT minister on political matters, Senator Usman Jibrin Wowo, for the lone senate seat to represent Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the 2015 general elections, has received a boost, following his endorsement by the Elders of Kwali Area Council chapter of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Chairman of the PDP elders in the area, Mr. Baba Bulus Gbogun, who disclosed the endorsement at the end of the its elders meeting with Wowo, at Koroko village, in Kwali , recently, said elders of party decided to endorse him because of his good track records, in the past.

He said elders of the party have taken their time to arrive at decision of endorsing him after they have carefully consider that he has good credentials as well as the capability to represent the people of the FCT and the party to greater heights.

‘’The Kwali PDP elders at both ward and council level have today come together and unanimously resolved and endorsed our son, who is nobody, but Senator Usman Jibrin Wowo, to contest for the seat of the FCT senate come 2015, after carefully examining his good track records, ‘’ he said.

Also speaking, the secretary of the party’s elders in Kwali ,Alhaji Musa Majaga, said elders of the party, which cut across the ten wards of the council, are solidly behind the candidature of Senator Wowo.

He said the coming of Senator Wowo, to accept the peoples call to contest for the senate seat would no doubt address some of the daunting challenges facing people of the FCT.

‘’As far as elders of the PDP are concerned, in Kwali area council, we are 100 percent behind the aspiration of Senator Usman Jibrin Wowo, because we have seen what he has done before for people of FCT, ‘’ he said.

Responding, Wowo, said he was elated by the decision of elders of the PDP across the ten wards to unanimously endorse him for the race to occupy the lone seat FCT in the senate, in 2015.

He said his endorsement by entire elders of the party in the area showed that they have accepted him, and supports his course to represent them at the national assembly.

‘’I want to say that calling me here by elders across ten wards to endorse me for the senatorial bid goes to show that other candidates or aspirants should go and sleep, ‘’ he said.

He said his endorsement by the party elders would no doubt have a multiplying effect on remaining five area councils in the FCT, saying elders of the party would no doubt go to other councils to inform other elders of their reason for endorsing him.

Wowo therefore, called on members and supporters of the PDP to continue to live in peace with one another and be law abiding citizens to the constituted authorities, adding nothing could be achieve under the atmosphere of rancour and acrimonies but peace.
