As Muslim faithful continue celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, has charged residents to pray for the leadership of the Council and FCT Administration, as it strives to overcome prevailing developmental challenges.
Making this appeal in a his sallah message,Maikalangu, who congratulated Muslims across the Council and the country on the completion of the month-long Ramadan fast, urged them to use the occasion to pray for the nation, reflect on the lessons learnt during the holy month.
He also enjoined them to continue to imbibe the teachings of Ramadan in their daily lives, which are premised on selflessness, sacrifice, patience, modesty and spirituality.
The AMAC chairman particularly called for prayers for the success of the FCTA under the Minister of FCT, Chief Nyesom Wike, for Allah to continue to guide, protect and give him the wisdom to steer the affairs of the territory.
He also called on all Nigerians irrespective of their religious belief and political inclination to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another.
Furthermore, the AMAC boss used the occasion to admonish residents to key into the Household and Community Sanitation Campaign of his administration, in order to put Abuja environment on a sound pedestal, which will impact positively on their overall health condition.
“Improved personal hygiene and removal of environmental nuisances across the Council, will remain on the front burner of the current AMAC Administration and collaboration with the residents in this area will go a long way for the success of my Administration”, the Chairman stressed.
