The leadership of Organized Labour has arrived at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to attend a scheduled meeting with President Bola Tinubu over the national minimum wage dispute.
The labour leaders, who proceeded straight to the President’s office. arrived the State House about 2 pm, led by the President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, Comrade Festus Osifo.
Though the agenda of the meeting is not made public, it is believed to be in be connection with the lingering minimum wage issues.
The Tripartite Committee on the new national minimum wage had recently submitted two figures to the President as the organized private sector and the government team had offered to pay N62,000, while the organized labour demanded N250,000.
Following the disagreement over the figure, the President had said he would consult with all the relevant stakeholders in order to resolve all the contentious issues before sending any figure to the National Assembly as an Executive Bill.
