From Yakubu Mustapha, Minna

Chairman Chanchaga Local Government of Niger state, Alhaji Ibrahim Lalalo has lamented over the inability of the council to pay 100% staff salary.

He made the disclosure in an interview with journalists in Minna.

He said the situation was due to over blotted staff strength of over two thousand workforce.

Lalalo who appealed to workers to be patient with the current situation stated that he required about N272 million monthly but got over N138 million, leaving a deficit of over N130 million that the council can’t generate in a month.

He explained that the council had resolved with the labour not to retrench workers as such would exposed many to hardship, hence the need to pay in percentage until normalcy is restored.
