Hell was let loose, as residents of new Okpe Road area of the Okpe community of Jeddo in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State witnessed a multiple robbery operation.
A source told our correspondent that the dastardly act was carried out by a legion of armed robbers who killed a civilian night guard near a police base at midnight at the weekend.
He also disclosed that burglary proofs of victims were uprooted by the dare devil invading armed bandits who were said to have stormed the area with highly sophisticated guns.
Unconfirmed report had it that the target of the men of the underworld was a certain man of God who was said to have escaped unhurt. However, the armed robbers were said to have carted away their loots unchallenged.
The source, who is a security guide in a private security outfits, described the armed robbers’ operations as horrifying.
A food vendor (name withheld) who lives in the other area of Jeddo but does her business in Warri confirmed that she heard gun shots that lasted for several hours and that she thought that there war at the said area of the community.
When the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya was contacted through text message for confirmation of the story, she responded saying, “Please give me some time to get back.”
However, the Delta State PPRO did not get back to our correspondent several hours after she was contacted.
