NJI partners NCSC on case management for Judges of lower court

The National Judicial Institute (NJI) partners with the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) on implementing strategic principles and tools for case management for judges of the lower court.

The workshop on case management for judges of the lower court integrated a three-part training series on the subject.

The Administrator of the institute, Justice B.A Adejumo, informed that the decision to organize the capacity-building initiative across various judicial cadres reflects the critical importance of structured oversight within the Courts.

In his welcome address, Adejumo emphasis that beyond administrative order, effective docket control serves as a vital benchmark for measuring individual judicial productivity and shaping public perception of justice delivery.

He maintained that regulation of caseload possesses the power to bolster public trust and confidence in the Judiciary.

“By internalizing the values of discipline and accountability while leveraging modern innovations, you must master coordinating available resources to guarantee the timely resolution of disputes.

“Case management has emerged as one of our most prominent thematic focuses this year.

“Alongside a partnership with the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) on implementing strategic principles and tools for case management, we have integrated a three-part training series on the subject into our curriculum. The present Workshop marks the second instalment in this series, with the final session for Court Staff scheduled for August.

“The decision to organize this capacity-building initiative across various judicial cadres reflects the critical importance of structured oversight within our Courts. “Beyond administrative order, effective docket control serves as a vital benchmark for measuring individual judicial productivity and shaping public perception of justice delivery.

“Within this framework, professional development programmes like this remain indispensable, as they broaden participant horizons and provide the requisite skills to strengthen managerial capabilities.

“To enrich your learning experience during this specific Workshop, we have designed a framework that fosters peer-to-peer engagement and allows participants to interact more closely with our Resource Persons.

“Following the main presentations, you will break into smaller syndicates to analyze real-world scenarios and collectively brainstorm practical solutions to specific operational challenges.

“I urge everyone to capitalize fully on this collaborative opportunity, as well as the diverse insights that will be shared throughout the engagement.
