The ambitious vision for an Ultramodern Congress Hall at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, received a massive lift today as indigenous firm Bespoke Urban Luxury Limited donated 600 bags of cement to the project.
In a brief but impactful handover ceremony in Abuja, supervised by Arc Junias John Akaito and Kolade Oluwajuwkn Olaoye, the company delivered an initial tranche of 300 bags.
Stakeholders have hailed the contribution as a defining milestone in the Council’s mission to establish a premier facility for journalists in the nation’s capital.
While receiving the materials, NUJ FCT Council Chairman Comrade Grace Ike expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Christian Olatunji, CEO of Bespoke Urban Luxury Limited. She emphasized that the donation is both “timely and strategic,” as the building is designed to serve as a nerve center.
“This gesture is a clear demonstration of confidence in the Nigerian media.
“The NUJ FCT Council is committed to building a functional hall that will serve as a center for innovation and the overall welfare of our members”, Comrade Ike stated.
Comrade Ike assured the donors of absolute transparency and accountability in utilizing the materials, vowing to deliver a project that “stands the test of time” for future generations of journalists.
On his part, Dr. Christian Olatunji noted that the intervention was fueled by the media’s indispensable role in democratic consolidation and national development.
Olatunji added that the company underscored that supporting this infrastructure aligns with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals to foster community growth and institutional capacity.
Members of the Council present at the ceremony called the donation “exemplary” and urged other corporate organizations, public-spirited individuals, and development partners to follow suit.
Once completed, the landmark edifice will provide offices and modern facilities aimed at significantly elevating journalism practice within the FCT.
