Pa Akinkunmi an iconic, designs most important Nigeria symbol says Min of Information

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has described Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi as an iconic individual who designed one of the most important symbols of our collective existence as a country and a nation.
He was speaking while on a condolence visit to the family of Pa Akinkunmi, at his Elebu, Ibadan, residence,yesterday.
The minister said the visit was at the behest of President Bola Tinubu, who wants to assure the family of the deceased and Oyo state that he shares in the pain caused by the death of the icon, adding that the late Akinkunmi represents the unity and oneness of the country through the legacy he left behind.
“Mr. President has asked that we come to commiserate with the family and the state and also to tell them that he shares with them in this grief, along with the Federal Government, throughout this period.” He said.
He assured that the requests of the family at this time would be looked into.The lawmakers described the waiver as an abuse of recruitment processes with alleged nepotism and favouritism taking the centre stage.
Rep. Yusuf Gagdi, Chairman, Ad hoc Committee on Job Racketeering and Mismanagement of IPPIS, said this when the Provost, National Post-Graduate Medical College (NPGMC) appeared before the committee in Abuja on Monday.
He said that MDAs had abused the is not doing the country any good.
He said that any recruitment that would not follow due process by advertising such on the pages of national dailies would no longer be tolerated.
“We will abolish the use of waivers; it is not for the good of this country, a waiver is subject to abuse.”
