Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), 
Abdullahi Jalo, has said the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) Interim Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed has no basis to allege that the PDP in Gombe is clamping down on the opposition APC in Gombe state.
Jalo, who spoke as an indigene of the state said Mohammed was only fabricating lies against the achieving government of Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo with the aim of discrediting the development taking place in Gombe and cause chaos.
He said “with Lai Mohammed’s claims, he has shot himself on his legs since he has never visited Gombe State, especially in the last three years, to see how peaceful and hardworking the PDP administration has been”.
According to him, “Lai should rather ask of the scorecard of the
so-called APC leader in Gombe state, Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje,
while being at the helms of affairs as Governor from 2003 – 2011,
especially on the issue of Kalare and the over 300 persons killed by the Yankalare thugs during his maximum rule”.
He said it was a known fact that Ubanbala and Muhammadu Bage are still
in prison because of murder allegations against them under the instruction of Danjuma Goje.
In his words, “are we denying that Ubanbala and Muhammadu Bage are not in the Prison? Have they been acquitted and what were their charges?
They were charged with murder and who did they murder? So, if Goje wants to take me to court, these people would be brought as witnesses.
Are you doubting that Bangus was killed and thrown behind the Accountant-General’s office. He was drinking beer in NNPC club where Haruna took him, was it not a Government killing and was it in doubt?”
Jalo said rather than shout foul where there is none, the APC spokesman should keep his ignorance about Gombe with him and allow good governance to continue because he cannot get cheap popularity with the blackmail.
