The Yobe State Police Command has nabbed 31 persons suspected for criminal offences in Damaturu, the state capital.
This is as the Niger state police command paraded 15 suspected criminals for various offences as part of its achievements recorded in the last one month in the state.
A statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer in Yobe, Dungus Abdulkarim, said the police in collaboration with other security agencies apprehended the suspects for various offensives across the state.
Mr Dungus added that, those arrested were 25-year-old Mohammed Garba and 22-year-old Ibrahim Mohd for allegedly stabbing to death a man whom they broke into his house for theft.
He said, most of the culprits arrested in Damaturu have served imprisonment terms in the past from similar offences.
The command sympathises with the bereaved family and assures the community of appropriate punishment on the culprits.
Furthermore, the Command said items recovered from the suspects include: a knife and five cell phones of different brands.
He said the investigation has since commenced for subsequent prosecution as the command.
Meanwhile, the Niger state police command has paraded 15 suspected criminals for various offences as part of its achievements recorded in the last one month in the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman made this known while parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Minna, Niger state capital.
He said four people were arrested by police operatives for criminal conspiracy in possession of 295 rounds of live ammunition of AK-47 at a poultry farm in Sabon Wise, Tafa local government area of the state.
The suspects include; Nuhu Abdullahi 25yrs, Yahuza Isah 24yrs, Mohammed Adamu 42yrs all from Dadin Kowa area of the community as the recovery were hidden in different bags of grains within the farm.
During interrogation according to CP, Nuhu Abdullahi confessed that his elder brother; one Ibrahim Abdullahi 38yrs of Mangu area of Plateau State, sent a sum of two hundred and ninety-five thousand naira to him to purchase arms and ammunition for nefarious activities in Mangu, Plateau State.
CP Danmamman added that one other suspect called Commander Dahiru of vigilante, presently at large supplied the remaining quantity.
