The donation, made through her Pledging Aid Charity Foundation (PAC-F), is aimed at reducing the financial burden of treatment and ensuring that vulnerable patients are not denied medical care because of a lack of funds.

“We will continue to extend assistance to vulnerable patients facing different health challenges.”

The governor’s wife stressed the importance of sustained support, early detection and timely access to treatment, noting that they were critical to improving patients’ welfare and chances of recovery.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, the Chairman of the hospital’s Health Advisory Committee, Dr Abdulfatah, commended Hajiya Fatima and the foundation for the gesture.

He said the donation would provide relief to patients struggling with the high cost of cancer treatment.

Abdulfatah also urged philanthropists, wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to support government efforts by assisting patients facing the financial demands of prolonged medical treatment.
