Former governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, has authorized the delivery of 746 trucks of assorted food items for distribution to people of the state as part of this year’s Ramadan welfare package.
According to statement by Chairman Committee On Publicity, hon. Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, revealed that the Chairman of Senator Abdulaziz Yari Palliatives’ state distribution committee who doubled as Chairman of the governing board of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Shika Zaria, Kaduna state, Dr. Lawal M Liman (Gabdon Kaura) announced that, out of 746, 628 trucks are for the people of the state irrespective of their political alignment.
Birnin Magaji, said 118 trucks of rice will be given to Polling Unit Committees through the state Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across 147 Political wards in Zamfara State as phase one.
He explained that each of the 14 Local Government Area of the State is to receive 45 trucks of the assorted food items.
The Chairman further explained that a total of 315,000 beneficiaries are captured for the distribution which is expected to commence before the beginning of this year’s Ramadan.
Hon. M. Liman implored the commitees of the distribution chain at all levels to ensure strick compliance with the laid down procedures in the process with a view to meeting the donor’s philosophy of cushioning the hardship of his people.
