Residents of Nasarawa community lament high rate of banditry, kidnapping on highways

Following the incessant armed banditry and kidnappings perpetrated along the busy Keffi, Kaduna and Jos Federal highway, the residents of Gitata, Tattara, Angwan Ayaba and Barde in the neighboring Kaduna state have made a passionate appeal to the Nasarawa and Kaduna state police commands to intensify effort towards bringing to an end the ugly situation confronting travelers and the residents of the respective communities.
Reacting to the predicament in an interview with Peoples Daily, Monday, leaders of the communities Mr. Markus Gaya and Danjuma Kati lamented that people especially commuters are at risk on daily basis of being robbed or kidnapped; calling on the security operatives of the two states to collaborate and fish out the bad elements along the federal road.
According to them “Keffi, Kaduna and Jos road leads to so many states such as Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe but is faced with challenges of kidnapping and other forms of attack. We call on the relevant security agents to always embark on stringent patrol along the high way”.
