From Femi Oyelola in Kaduna

Sixteen-year-old Ridwanullah Isiaq from Oyo State has won the 3rd Abdulganiyu Olusegun Awokoya Camping Programme and Quranic Competition, beating 27 other contestants in demanding rounds of memorization and recitation.

Oreagba Zainab Opeyemi of Ogun State finished second, while Malik Fawzan Mubarak from Kaduna took third.

The three-day event, hosted by Oba Abdulganiyu Awokoya of Irete Land, aims to combine spiritual mastery with character development.

Under the theme “Tawhid in Principle and Adab in Practice,” lead lecturer Sheikh Dhikrullah Shafii encouraged participants to embody monotheism and proper etiquette, reinforced by scholars Ustaz Abdullah Davies and Dr. Isa Tosin.

Besides recitation, the programme promoted practical faith through a wide-ranging empowerment scheme. Over 400 youths received free vocational training in high-demand fields such as graphic design, social media management, screen printing, cake making, event styling, bead craft, and the production of liquid detergents and disinfectants.

A health outreach offering dental makeovers, screenings, and counseling was also included.

Cash prizes of ₦1,000,000, ₦500,000, and ₦250,000 were awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners, respectively, along with additional cash and gift items for all participants.
