A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has welcomed the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, into the fold of the ruling party, describing the move as a major boost for the party’s strength in the state.

Shinkafi, a former governorship candidate in Zamfara, said in a statement on Monday that Lawal’s decision to join the APC represents a significant and progressive step capable of strengthening unity and political stability in the state.

He noted that the development would also deepen the party’s influence not only in Zamfara but across the country.

According to him, the governor’s decision demonstrates a commitment to collaboration and collective efforts aimed at advancing the welfare of the people and accelerating development in the state.

Shinkafi said the APC remained a broad political platform open to leaders and stakeholders genuinely committed to good governance, peace and sustainable development.

The APC chieftain called on party members and supporters across Zamfara to receive the governor with open arms and work together in the spirit of unity and progress.

He stressed that cooperation among political actors would help consolidate democratic values and promote sustainable development in the state.

Shinkafi also reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that promote peace, development and democratic consolidation in Zamfara State.

Expressing optimism about the party’s future, he said the APC was well positioned to win upcoming elections in the state and deliver victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential poll, just as it did in the 2023 election.

He urged party members to put aside political differences and work collectively for the growth and stability of the party in Zamfara.

Shinkafi also encouraged eligible citizens to take part in the ongoing voter registration exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards.

He said massive support for the APC would ensure continuity of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which he noted had laid the foundation for economic prosperity, national security and national unity.
