Tension as soldier allegedly stabs artisan to death in Abuja

There was palpable tension yesterday in Kugbo mechanic located on Abuja -Keffi Expressway as a yet to be identified soldier allegedly stabbed an automobile electrician to death.
It was gathered that the incident, which occurred, in the aftermath of an argument that ensued between the duo, purportedly resulting to beating of the soldier, which later led to stabbing of the electrician simply identified as ‘Yellow Bobo’.
However, the development triggered a violent protest by the deceased’s colleagues in the market, leading to the destruction of the alleged ‘killer’ soldier’s car, who ran for his life.
An eyewitness, who is a trader in the area who pleaded anonymity, the situation also triggered fears, making shop owners to close their shops and scampered for safety.
“The soldier came with a car for the electrician to do something on it, after few hours they started argument, which the soldier brought out knife to defend himself and stab the man to death, and ran away.
“His car was also burnt by colleagues of the deceased. But the situation is calm now, because few police men came into the market.” The witnessed recounted.
Similarly, another spare parts dealer, who also pleaded anonymity: said, “The soldier came with the car first to me, but I told him that I am busy, he should give another person, they started with heated argument, resulting to killing of the electrician, and burning of the soldier’s vehicle.”
Meanwhile, as the time of filling this report, there was no official response yet from either the military or police on the incident.
