From Mustapha Adamu, Kano
The Presidential Candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adebayo Adewole, has said that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari will score F9 if he is to rate its performance from 2015.
Adewole said the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) under Buhari has done nothing but succeeded in playing comedy show in the last eight years of its governance and plunged the nation into a more devastating state.
Addressing journalists ahead of his presidential campaign rally in Kano on Tuesday, Adewole pointed out that the Buhari’s government had plunged Nigerians into insecurity and poverty.
According to him, poverty has been thriving in the county to the extent that people defends on prayers or miracle to get food.
He said, “for a Family in Nigeria or Kano whose idea of their survival is prayers or miracles, and the miracles come in form of going round to search for a dustbin to get watermelon to boil, such a family does not deserve that kind of treatment and such cannot say the so-called N5000 they were given would remove their malice”.
Prince Adewole however said SDP is reaching out to Nigerians, hoping that the structure already in place would grow to understand the citizen.
He promised to fight insecurity, poverty, illiteracy and hunger if elected as president in the February presidential election.
He also urhed Nigerians to elect candidates with focus and vision, rather than those “that disguise under religion to deceive voters.”
On the threat of possible shift or total cancellations of the 2023 general elections as reported by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Adewole, said the electoral umpire had no excuse but to ensure that the polls are conducted as scheduled.
“INEC is the most funded entity of the government and today they are even competing with some states in terms of financial strength, so they have no excuse whatsoever but to make the election a reality,” he said.
