2023: Niger youth urged to shun violence, drugs

A socio cultural group under the auspices of Gbagyi Elders Forum has enjoined the youths in the country to shun all kinds of violence and consumption of hard drugs as 2023 general elections gets closer.

The Forum further decried high rate of insecurity situation and deliberate marginalization of their people and community in Niger state.

Justice Garba Tumaka rtd made this known at a press briefing after the inauguration of its maiden election of the Forum’s executives mandated to pilot the affairs of the group in Minna, aimed at redirecting and ensuring welfare package for the upliftment and development of their people.

Tumaka reiterated the commitment of the forum to reversed the trends of the Gbagyi challenges through empowerment of the youths, tackling insecurity by providing logistics support to ensure peace and stability of the areas.

He maintained that they can no longer condone the marginalization of the Gbagyi’s hence they called for the unity of the people and advised youths to desist from being used as political thugs before, during and after the forthcoming general elections.
