2027: Group hails Yari’s appointment as APC Campaign DG, vows grassroots support

A group under the auspices of YARI 774 Initiative for Asiwaju 2027 congratulated Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Marafan Sokoto, on his reported appointment as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by its National Chairman and Convener, Chief Dr. Ibrahim Emokpaire, the grassroots mobilization platform called the appointment “well deserved” and “a case of a round peg in a round hole.”

According to Emokpaire, the appointment recognizes Senator Yari’s years of political service, leadership experience, and dedication to the APC and the Nigerian people.

The group observed that Yari’s political background, especially his tenure as a two-term Governor of Zamfara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, has prepared him well to lead a nationwide political campaign.

It also commended the former governor for his contributions to security, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development during his administration in Zamfara State.

The statement further highlighted Yari’s experience beyond elected office, describing him as a businessman whose ventures have generated jobs and economic opportunities for Nigerians.

Emokpaire added that Yari’s traditional title in the Sokoto Emirate and his philanthropic work have demonstrated his commitment to service and community development.

“As a serving senator, Senator Yari has continued to contribute to national development through legislation and representation in the National Assembly,” the statement said.

The YARI 774 Initiative expressed confidence that, under Yari’s leadership, the APC Presidential Campaign Council would run an inclusive, issue-focused campaign capable of strengthening the party’s structures and mobilizing Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Under Senator Yari’s direction, we are confident that the Campaign Council will run a robust, inclusive, and issue-based campaign that will further unite our party and build on the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the group said.

The organization also pledged the support of its national executive members, state and local government coordinators, women and youth leaders, and members across the 774 local government areas to the campaign council.

It said members are ready to work with Senator Yari to rally grassroots support and help secure a “resounding victory” for the APC in the 2027 elections.
