The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has discloses that President Bola Tinubu gave him, and the Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud the free-hand to work, and does not interfere in the affairs of the FCT Administration, since their inception in August 2023.

This, the minister noted paved way for the accelerated infrastructural strides recorded in Abuja, the nation’s Capital city, within the first year of the President’s renewed Hope Agenda driven administration.

Wike made this assertion in Abuja on Saturday during the presidential commissioning of provision of engineering infrastructure to  Guzape Lot II District.

In his words: “Since I assumed office in August 21, 2023, you have never one day interfered in my work.

“Never one day have you called me that this is what you want, you have never. Sometimes, I pretend I will come to you and say, ‘are there people complaining?’ You will tell me ‘Have I ever called you one day? So don’t bother yourself, go and do your job.

“I must say I and the Minister of State, we are sincerely happy that you gave us the free hand to work and this is what we are seeing today”.

Futhermore, the minister who also described Diplomatic area in Guzape as a preferred residential choice for most Nigerians assured the President of the FCT Administration’s commitment to complete projects in the area by next year.

In his remarks, President Tinubu commended Wike for providing  leadership at one of the most  trying times of the country.

“Minister Nyesom Wike has provided exceptional leadership at a trying time for the country.

“It has been a very challenging time for us in the country. We are still retooling and rejigging our financial system to bring prosperity and relief to the people of this country.

“You have demonstrated the capacity to build a team, lead a team, and deliver on promises. I commend you, well done”, the President stressed.
