The seeming rift within the political family of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,Senator George appears to heading to full blown crack as the Benue state Governor ,Rev. Dr Hyacinth Alia has accused the Senator representing Benue North West and chairman Senate panel on Rules and Business Titus Zam of mischieviously heating up the polity instead “rolling up his sleeves and addressing the glaring issues of Internally Displaced persons and critical infrastructures in his Senatorial zone”.
The Benue state Governor equally challenged Senator Zam to present his score-card of his first 100 days in office to his constituents ,face his legislative duties and desist from mischief .
Both Governor Hyacinth Alia and Senator Titus Zam are members of the Senator George Akume’s political family as an undoubted political leader in Benue and beyound .
Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor ,Dr Aondona Mkor in a press statement in Abuja (Monday ), in response to a Facebook post by the Senator maintained that the Governor as a servant of God has dedicated and committed himself to serve humanity and will take exceptions to attempts by the Senator to inflame ,insinuate and create division amongst the people of the state.
Dr. Mkor reminded the senator that ,the Governor personally led his campaign in the 2023 National Assembly elections and using his ‘YES FATHER’ political movement without which the election could have gone the way of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He expressed dissatisfaction over Senator Zam tagging the Governor as nepotic and sectional in his appointments in the state , stressing that “we rise to condemn the specific part of senator Zam’s speech in which he mischieviously attempted to give the government of Rev .Fr Dr Alia an ethnic coloration as a Kunav affair. This is inciting insinuation by the Senator and it’s most unfortunate,regrettable ,unbefitting and sadistic,as it is also tantamount to a high degree of ungratefulness by someone who squatted on the shoulders of YES FATHER to winhis Senatorial election against Samuel Ortom as the a sitting Governor ”
Senator Zam on his Facebook page , make remarks against the Governor and his Private Personal Secretary Dr Chenge.
Efforts to get the reaction of Senator Zam proved abortive as his mobile phone was unreachable and he did not respond to a message sent to his mobile number.
