Edo Varsity granted access to TETFUND

Edo University, Iyamho has been granted access to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).

The institution which was established three years ago, but, got the enlisted among Nigerian government-owned tertiary institutions in Nigeria have enjoyed the inter funds.

The Executive Secretary of TETFund, Prof. Suleiman Elias Bagoro, disclosed this at a Ceremony in May 2019.

Bagoro was represented by Barr. Ifiok Ukim, Director Strategic Planning and Development on the occasion.

He said the approval was granted to the institution’s request by the TETFund Board of Trustees months ago.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, expressed appreciation on behalf of the Management of the University.

He paid tribute to the Board of Trustees and Management of TETFUND for finding the University worthy of enlistment.

Prof. Aluyor, assured that the intervention fund will be judiciously deployed to “research with a view to finding solutions to the challenges being faced in the University community and country.

He noted that the university is looking forward to building more beautiful, tasty and classy environment where lectures are delivered in temperature-controlled classrooms/lecture theatres with cutting edge multimedia facilities.

He also said the feat will act as a catalyst towards delivering a full package of modern technologies, in the field of medicine, science as well as other related courses.

“Enlistment as a beneficiary of TETFund is the approval given to any public tertiary university, polytechnic and college of education to receive annual funding from TETFund for the development of critical infrastructure for teaching and learning, provision of instructional materials, training of academic staff among other interventions”, he said.

The VC further stressed that the enlistment has laid to rest the speculation about the ownership status of the ivory tower.
